About BruleBay
BruleBay is a Minnesota-based, father-and-son fishing decal brand founded by Trent and Joel Spies. We create original fishing decals inspired by the freshwater species and fishing culture of the Midwest. Every BruleBay design starts with original artwork created by Joel.
Our collection focuses on the fish anglers know and love, including walleye, northern pike, musky, largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, crappie, perch, bluegill, and other popular species.
Our Story
BruleBay grew out of a shared love of fishing, art, and the outdoors.
The name BruleBay comes from Brule Bay in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the destination of Trent’s first Boundary Waters trip and one they returned to annually for years. It is a sentimental name and always brings back a lot of great fishing memories for both Trent and Joel.
Original Fishing Artwork
Our decals aren’t built from stock fish illustrations. Joel creates the original artwork behind BruleBay’s designs, drawing inspiration from years spent fishing and exploring the lakes and rivers of the Midwest and beyond.
We turn that artwork into durable fishing decals made for tackle boxes, coolers, vehicles, boats, water bottles, and anywhere else anglers want to show off their favorite species.
Trent
Trent runs BruleBay’s ecommerce, marketing, product development, and day-to-day business operations. His experience fishing throughout Midwest & Canada helps shape the species and ideas that become new BruleBay decals.
Joel
Joel creates the original artwork behind BruleBay’s fishing decals. His work focuses on capturing the character of fish while creating designs that anglers will recognize and connect with.
Gabi
Every decal is touched by Gabi, hand packed with care. She makes sure every order is accurately fulfilled on time, and she also knows how to catch a fish or two.
Made for Anglers
We’re continuing to build BruleBay around one simple idea: create original decals that celebrate fish and fishing culture we grew up with in the Midwest.
